Simple Check Method
Step 1: Position
- Find the midpoint between pulleys
- Ensure fan is completely stopped
Step 2: Press Test
- Use your index finger
- Press with moderate force (similar to pressing an elevator button)
- Feel for the resistance
Expected Feel for BDB 250
- Force: 25-35N
- Deflection: 10-15mm
- Feel: Light pressure, like pressing a doorbell
How to Interpret
| Feel | Meaning | Action |
|---|---|---|
| No resistance | Belt too loose | Needs immediate tension adjustment |
| Moderate give | Good tension | Continue regular monitoring |
| Very hard/No give | Belt too tight | Reduce tension to prevent damage |
Important Notes:
- This is a quick check method - use tension meter for precise measurements
